Dr. Cheryl Burkhart-Kriesel has served as the Community and Economic Development Specialist since July 1, 2001. Previous work experience includes one year as a North Dakota State University Extension Agent At-Large, three years as a University of Nebraska Extension Educator in Morrill County and four years as the Panhandle Learning Center Coordinator. In addition, she has served as a University of Nebraska grant coordinator for statewide projects in small scale entrepreneurship and human capital development. Educational degrees include a B.S. in Consumer Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1976, a M.S. in Applied Human Resources from Colorado State University in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Community and Human Resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992. In addition to her formal training in the field, in 2002, she will complete the University of Missouri's three-part Community Development Academy training.
