Bond
CL is a medium-early maturing, semidwarf hard red winter wheat developed
at Colorado State University that has performed well in both dryland
and irrigated trials in Nebraska. Bond CL is a wheat that may be
used as a component of the BASF CLEARFIELD Production System with
Beyond® herbicide for the selective control of jointed goatgrass,
downy brome, and feral rye. It is medium-tall and has good tolerance
to shattering. Bond CL has shown moderate susceptibility to stem
rust moderate susceptibility to leaf rust, and susceptibility to
stripe rust. It has shown moderate susceptibility to wheat streak
mosaic virus. Bond CL is resistant to greenbug, susceptible to the
Great Plains biotype of Hessian fly, resistant to the original North
American biotype of the Russian wheat aphid, and susceptible to
a new biotype of Russian wheat aphid identified in Colorado in 2003.
