Welcome to the University of Nebraska Wheat Varieties Virtual Tour!
Wheat variety tours are held every summer throughout Nebraska to allow wheat growers to see, compare, and learn about the many winter wheat varieties available to them, and to get an early glimpse of new experimental lines. This web site is for those who are unable to attend the tours, or who just want to refresh their memory. This virtual tour allows you to see and learn about the wheat varieties you may want to try on your Nebraska farm.
By choosing varieties that complement each other you will improve yield stability on your farm and maximize protection from disasters brought on by diseases, insects, or drought. When visiting the many varieties on this site, consider the strengths and weaknesses of each, how they will fit your farming practices, and how they fit with varieties you are currently using. Each new variety you select will likely replace an existing variety, so it needs to fit the entire package for your farm.
After
locating a few varieties that sound good to you, be sure to visit
the wheat
variety test page to see how your selected varieties performed in trials near you.
